We’d like to take a moment to get all of you thinking about your preparedness for an emergency.  We’ve been researching disaster preparation for the business this year but being prepared in your own home and discussing these plans with your family is even more important.

As part of our research for the revamp of our business continuity plan, we realized that we wanted to enhance our ability to communicate with our staff.

I am pleased to announce that we have launched a Business Continuity Planning Committee. The primary goal of this committee is to update our existing business continuity plan to reflect current business processes and departmental needs. 

E-mail is an important tool for communication, but it is also the number one vector for cyberattacks.  Phishing attacks, the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, have tripled since 2016.  As such, URAC will be introducing a new piece of technology called Mimecast to our technology stack.

Nearly a year old, the IT department is reviewing our phone system, CallTower.
