AccreditNet 3.0: Where Are We?

As a recap, URAC made the decision early in 2018 to replace the current accreditation system, AccreditNet 2.0, which was first implemented in 2015. Issues with the current system include functionality limitations, vendor dependence and cost, as well as poor customer feedback.  A Dulles, Virginia based vendor, ARMATURE, and their Fabric™ product was selected as the replacement and the project kicked off in October 2018. The new system will be replacing not only the AccreditNet 2.0 product but providing functionality to support the annual submission of measures by our clients in compliance with the URAC Quality process.

Telemed Leadership 2019 Brings Together Policy and Industry Leaders for Valuable Conversations

This past month, URAC hosted the second annual Telemed Leadership Forum, which attracted over 120 attendees, including policy leaders, provider groups, telehealth providers, and hospitals and health systems. Our first two keynote speakers on the first day were a big draw, featuring Brendan Carr, Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), followed by Laura McWright, Deputy Director of the Seamless Care Models Group, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

As both an attorney and a nurse, I am honored to work with such a group of dedicated individuals at URAC whose collective goal is the improvement of quality in the healthcare industry. URAC’s Accreditation and Certification Programs, whether a Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation or a Telehealth Accreditation, strive not only to improve quality in healthcare but also to protect the consumer who is on the receiving end of the healthcare delivery. Our goal is to be a leader in healthcare accreditation and to improve consumer protection. URAC’s Legal and Compliance Department strives to aid each and every employee at URAC in attaining the goal of consumer protection.
