AccreditNet 3.0: Where Are We?

As a recap, URAC made the decision early in 2018 to replace the current accreditation system, AccreditNet 2.0, which was first implemented in 2015. Issues with the current system include functionality limitations, vendor dependence and cost, as well as poor customer feedback.  A Dulles, Virginia based vendor, ARMATURE, and their Fabric™ product was selected as the replacement and the project kicked off in October 2018. The new system will be replacing not only the AccreditNet 2.0 product but providing functionality to support the annual submission of measures by our clients in compliance with the URAC Quality process.

Steering Committee governance for ARMATURE 3.0 is provided by the Executive Team. Each impacted internal user group has a representative on the Configuration team:

  • Account Management: Derrick Wilder
  • Accreditation/Client Services: Heather Bonome
  • Measures: Anita Uwadia
  • Product Development: Donna Merrick
  • NOC/Grievance Process: Karen Watts
  • IT: Matthew Marshall and Nicole Haggins

Implementation of Fabric™ has been broken into 3 phases, phase 1 completing at the end of March 2019. During phase 1, the ARMATURE team set up a build/test platform, analyzed a sampling of AccreditNet data/data structure and garnered an understanding of current processes. URAC Directory and Certificate content and display were also evaluated. A gap analysis was presented by the vendor, however in order to fully understand product variations, ARMATURE is in the process of creating a prototype which will provide a visual understanding of functionality and workflow.

Phase 2 of the project will focus on configuration of Products, Metrics and Instruments; Salesforce Integration; Certificate, Seals and On-line Directory build and Security Configuration including roles and permissions. This phase is scheduled to conclude mid-June.

Be on the lookout for monthly project updates in the form of a “Snapshot Report.” During May, we will provide the opportunity for staff to see and provide feedback on the prototype currently in development. Additional updates will be provided by the Steering and Configuration team for their respective groups. As your project manager, I am available as well – feel free to reach out.
