Late August brought a series of changes to URAC’s organizational structure and its people. As you know, our Board of Directors strategy retreat in July resulted in affirmation of our three-year strategic plan and crystalized the thinking of our executive team. We made a commitment to put additional resources into building our capabilities and stimulating innovation to achieve breakthrough top line growth for 2018 and beyond.

After two years, two public comment periods, and more than 2,000 comments later, the major revision to Core - version 4.0 - has arrived!

In just under two months, the Telemed Leadership Forum 2018 went from an idea to a packed agenda with 25 expert speakers, and counting. We're co-hosting this event with Telemedicine Magazine on March 27-29, 2018 at the Renaissance Washington, DC. If you haven't seen the website, go to http://telemed.org/. 

To increase access and enhance mental health services provided by the state of New York, the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) in July issued guidance for the use of telepsychiatry.  In this guidance, the OMH states it will accept telehealth accreditation by a national accrediting organization as evidence of regulatory compliance for a subset of the regulations.

In early August, the URAC Sales team had the pleasure of attending the 72nd Annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference in Orlando, Florida. URAC was well represented not only by the Sales staff, but also our standout marketing presence in one of the most high-traffic areas (see photo). While there, we met several long-time URAC clients who sang our praises (thank you, kindly).

I received the following email from Delwin Beene, Director of Accreditation at Community Health Choice in Houston, Texas. I wanted to share it with URAC staff because it shows the importance of our accreditation standards, particularly our disaster recovery standards, when a disaster strikes such as Hurricane Harvey.
