Nearly a year old, the IT department is reviewing our phone system, CallTower.

Call Tower, which is a “Voice Over IP” (VOIP), cloud-based system was originally implemented to support Business Continuity. In the event of a disaster at the DC offices, you need to continue to perform your duties. The technology team implemented Call Tower to ensure that you will be able to continue to place and receive phone calls, at any location, even in the event of a system failure. We also wanted to provide enhanced collaboration capabilities and real-time availability information. Cloud-based telephone solutions, such as Call Tower, allow our business to continue, regardless of the status of the DC location.

While we have received some positive feedback, we have also heard some areas of concern. To ensure that we meet your needs, Steve Krehbiel assembled the Call Tower Focus Group. The technology team is in the process of putting plans in place to address the focus groups’ feedback.

Of primary concern are the reports of poor call quality, including Skype meeting malfunctions. We are performing tests on the connection to our phone vendor to identify the cause of these issues. We also understand that some of you dislike the call transfer process on the VVX 411 telephones. Therefore, we are demoing a different telephone type that may make this process easier. Our vendor has been very engaged and is eager to resolve these issues, so we hope to have an update to you soon.

Not a member of the Call Tower Focus Group? We invite your feedback! Please let me, Matthew or Maggie know of your specific concerns. Thank you.
