Flu season is upon us, with all its coughing, fevers, sore throats and runny noses. The typical flu season lasts from fall to early spring, but the length and severity of an epidemic may vary, as the dominant strains of flu change from year to year. Some lucky individuals can get through the season flu-free, but be prepared to be surrounded by sneezing and coughing for a few months out of every year.

It’s important to revisit your tax withholding, especially if major changes from the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act affected the size of your refund this year. Even if you did a Paycheck Checkup last year, you should do it again to account for differences from TCJA or life changes. A Paycheck Checkup can help you see if you’re withholding the right amount of tax from your paycheck. Too little could mean an unexpected tax bill or penalty. You can use the Withholding Calculator found on www.irs.gov.

It’s time for Open Enrollment! Employees will have the opportunity to change their health plan (between HMO and PPO), dental, and vision coverage as well as their AFLAC coverage. As well, employees who are interested in enrolling in 2019 Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) must complete an application for 2019.
