The Quality, Research, and Measurement Department, in collaboration with individuals from across the organization, is pleased to announce the launch of an updated Policy and Procedure site on URAC’s Sharepoint environment.

Accessible from the homepage under either “URAC Company Links” or in the page footer, this page (DIRECT LINK: HERE) contains all published URAC policies, converted into a standardized template over the past year. Work was largely completed by a subgroup to URAC’s Quality Council, who facilitated policy conversion and update within their respective departments.

Policies now appear in list form and in a new “Department” column for ease of navigation. In this area you will also find the following:

  • ARCHIVE: Contains all of URAC’s historical P&Ps for reference.
  • Policy Management: Staging area used by those editing and approving policies to store and update word versions of documentation.
  • P&P Inventory: Listing of all essential information about each policy document, broken out by departments in separate tabs.
  • P&P Code Map: Tables of the full names of department and section codes now assigned to URAC P&Ps.
  • URAC Business Glossary: Contains terminology and corresponding definitions for terms used specifically or uniquely by URAC in doing business.  In policies themselves, these terms are italicized.

An orientation to the Sharepoint site will be provided at the next All-Staff meeting. In the coming months, the Quality Council will be establishing guidance for the ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures as well as formal oversight of this function. The goal here is to provide a schedule for policy review/revision, to ensure that policy changes/new introductions have been documented and to communicate updates throughout the organization on a regular basis.
