
Throughout the first quarter of 2018, the Technology Department will be upgrading all URAC laptops to the Windows 10 operating system. During this same period some URAC staff will receive new laptops, replacing older devices. The rollout schedule is:
- IT (1/22/18 – 1/26/18)
- Account Management (2/5/18 – 2/9/18)
- Research Measurement (2/12/18 – 2/16/18)
- Marketing and Sales (2/19/18 – 2/23/18)
- Client Services (2/26/18 – 3/2/18)
- Government Relations (3/7/18 – 3/9/18)
- Product Development (3/12/18 – 3/30/18)
- Legal (4/2/18 – 4/6/18)
- Kyle (4/9/18 – 4/13/18)
- Finance (3/5/18 – 3/7/18)
- Make up, for any users who had to reschedule (4/14/18 – 4/17/18)
What to expect:
- Unless it is your turn to receive a new laptop, during the migration, you will be provided a spare laptop to use while your current laptop is upgraded to Windows 10. Be aware that the set-up time will take approximately 2 days.
- Teams will be migrated 2 users at a time until the entire team is completed.
- Your saved documents remain intact. If you are receiving a new laptop, all documents will be transferred to the new device. Additionally, all software will be installed on new devices.
- If you can’t be migrated during your department’s scheduled time, your laptop will be addressed during the make-up week.
- Verify that you can login to the Laptop
- Once logged in Launch Outlook and verify your emails are loading correctly
- Verify OneDrive has pulled all your documentation
- Open Word, Excel and PowerPoint and verify you can save to your OneDrive
- Verify Skype for Business is working and that your desk phone is connected Properly
- Check your printer settings to make sure you can still print
- View installed software and make sure all previous software is installed
- Review instructions on new start menu and taskbar
