We’re proud to share that URAC has awarded its first telehealth accreditation to Avizia. Kudos to the Accreditation team for driving this process. The significance of this occasion cannot be overstated. Since March 2016, the URAC Sales team has been charged with identifying prospects, converting them to leads, and ultimately closing out sales. As of November 27 of this year, sales succeeding with the closing URAC’s first non-Beta telehealth sale, the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC). UMMC is considered a Center of Excellence for the practice of telemedicine, and securing the organization as a new telehealth client is a huge win for URAC.

With the telehealth accreditations of Avizia, and now AbleTo, URAC has clients it can champion as industry leaders, with the foresight and vision to pursue excellence in their practices.

In the URAC-Avizia joint press release, Robert Bernstein, MD, Avizia’s vice president of clinical affairs, stated that he and others at Avizia recognize the value of accreditation by a bona fide third party.

Striving for, and attaining, URAC accreditation “fits perfectly with our mission of extending the reach of healthcare with higher quality and at lower costs,” said Avizia Chief Executive Officer Mike Baird.

Being leaders in the accreditation space often means driving healthcare to new heights. With newly accredited telehealth providers, and a newly signed telehealth client, URAC is well positioned to grow sales and ensure that organizations that offer telemedicine are meeting the nation’s highest standards.
