At the All Staff Meeting on April 26, Kyl summarized the highlights of the April Board meeting and communicated URAC’s revised 2018 Corporate Goals. The organization has experienced double digit operating margins since 2013 -  a tremendous result! Despite the favorable outcome, we continued to miss the new business growth target. To reverse this trend, URAC’s Board elected to modify the 2018 Corporate Goals to create additional focus:

  • Deliver Operating Profits (budget approved) = $1.149M
  • Achieve Total Revenue Target (budget approved) = $19.816M
  • Grow new business sales in leading edge products = $1.8M in year one; represents at least 40 new clients:
    • Clinical Integration
    • Telehealth
    • Medicare Advantage
    • Genomics Precision Medicine
    • Certification of Organizational Management
    • Community Pharmacy
  • Develop educational workshops/seminars/labs that create a sustainable new revenue stream of $500K in revenue with profits of $150K to recognize revenue immediately.
    • Workshops and Telemed Leadership Forum
    • Redefine Health
    • New Offerings for 2018

The introduction of more rigorous goals requires new and innovative ways to accomplish our work.  Rather than ask how others will change, this Board challenge should encourage each staff member to ask, “how can I help meet these goals?”. Do we need to develop new tools?  New processes? New training?  Should we modify and/or eliminate outdated tools and/or processes that no longer add value?  Who are our ‘internal clients’ and what tools/resources do they need to do their job well?  Ask them!

One simple tool that the Product Development Team has created is a reference guide that equips our account managers, business executives, reviewers, and new employees with a summary highlighting new and revised products, their eligibility requirements, significant changes (if appropriate), and the date each program is available for sale. We’ll keep this guide updated and share with staff on an ongoing basis. Click here to download the document in PDF format.

As discussed in the Staff meeting, you don’t have to be in Sales to help URAC meet the goals. Everyone has a role in meeting the Corporate goals – you just need to change your perspective from “what is best for my team” to “what is best for the URAC team.”
