The Monthly Review spotlights a different URACer each month in a Q&A. This month it's Laura Higginbotham, who has been with URAC for six years.
TMR: When did you start at URAC and what brought you here?
Laura: I started URAC in Feb 2011. When I worked at a health plan we went through various accreditations. It was at that point that I thought that I want to “be one of them”. I never let that dream die! So when I was approached with this job opportunity, the timing was right and the rest is history!
TMR: Describe yourself in three words.
Laura: Loyal. Dependable. Hard-working.
TMR: Where did you grow up?
Laura: I was born in Evansville, Indiana and then moved to Summerville, South Carolina when I was 13.
TMR: What’s your favorite restaurant?
Laura: Filomena in Georgetown

TMR: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
Laura: Hawaii

Laura: I gave up pets!
