The Monthly Review spotlights a different URACer each month in a Q&A. This month it's Anita Uwadia, URAC's Quality and Research Associate.
TMR: When did you start at URAC and what brought you here?
Anita: I started Aug, 2018. URAC has a great mission and good reputation in the industry.
TMR: What were you doing before you came to URAC?
Anita: Business Consultant for the Veterans Health Administration.
TMR: Describe yourself in three words.
Anita: Dynamic, focused, resourceful.
TMR: How do you like to spend your leisure time?
Anita: Sleeping, just kidding. I’m usually spending time with friends and family, exploring local breweries or restaurants, or at the gym because I went to too many breweries.
TMR: What’s your favorite restaurant?
Anita: That is a tough one, there is so much good food in the area. I’ll say it’s a toss-up between Woodmont Grill (they have an amazing ribeye) or Thai Silver Spring (everything is good).
TMR: What do you like to watch?
Anita: I tend to not watch much of anything then binge watch Netflix because I feel like I’m missing out. Ozark, the Santa Clarita Diet, and Chewing Gum are on my list to binge watch.
TMR: What kind of books do you like to read?
Anita: I don’t have a particular genre that I prefer, I read anything that can keep my attention. Right now I am reading The Da Vinci Code which is good so far.
TMR: What's your favorite vacation spot?
Anita: I like Vancouver because you can get a little bit of everything ranging from mountains to beaches. I was last there in 2016 and don’t have a favorite spot yet.
TMR: Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Anita: Neither but if I have to choose, I’ll take dogs over cats.
TMR: Tell us something about yourself that most people at URAC would not know about you.
Anita: I grew up in Kansas.
