The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) will be at URAC’s office the first week of December 2019 to evaluate URAC’s Medicare Home Infusion Therapy Supplier (MHITS) program in pursuit of being identified as a deemed accreditor in early 2020. CMS will be onsite beginning Monday, December 2nd through Thursday, December 5th. While we anticipate a successful review, preparation is key.

To date, multiple departments have been involved in the program development, policy updates, system enhancements and/or preparation for the application submission. We are quickly speeding toward the finish line and kindly ask for your continued participation as every “i” is dotted and every “t” crossed to achieve this goal. The Quality, Research and Measurement team will be coordinating internal efforts for work sessions, meetings and follow-up items to ensure a successful audit.

Upon successful audit completion, this will mark the first deemed Medicare provider accreditation program for URAC. We recognize that the upcoming weeks until the site visit will be disruptive to schedules, but ask for patience and participation where required.
