The Monthly Review spotlights a different URACer each month in a Q&A. This month it's Haley Santos, who has been with URAC since June of this year.
TMR: When did you start at URAC and what brought you here?
Haley Santos: I started working at URAC in June of this year after I graduated college. I love all things English-major-related and healthcare as well, but I can’t do math or science without burning off several thousand brain cells. Luckily, URAC provides an excellent, STEM-unrelated compromise.
TMR: Describe yourself in three words.
Haley Santos: Goofy, driven, animal-lover
TMR: Where did you grow up?
Haley Santos: Franklin County, VA – right outside of Roanoke. It’s the kind of town where people take full morning/afternoon trips to the grocery store (closest to my house is about 30 min away).
TMR: What’s your favorite restaurant?
Haley Santos: The Cheesecake Factory
TMR: What was the last movie you saw?
Haley Santos: The Zookeeper's Wife
TMR: What book do you currently have on your nightstand?
Haley Santos: Madame Bovary
TMR: Where did you go on your last vacation?
Haley Santos: Hawaii (the Big Island)
TMR: Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Haley Santos: I have babies of both species, so I’m not allowed to say. Hypothetically, if you were to guess dogs while my super sneaky, super finnicky cat wasn’t around, I might nod my head.
TMR: Is there anything else that you would like us to know about you?
Haley Santos: I love writing and baking!
